DIY Wedding Favours

Wedding favours are not a necessity at weddings, there is no rule saying ‘you must send your guests home with a gift,’ but a lot of couples like to give their guests something.

As you progress through your wedding planning checklist, you will soon see, all those little somethings soon add up and cent wise, are not always friendly on your pocket! Whether you are sticking to a strict budget or whether you just fancy keeping you favours very personal and with a touch of DIY about them, we’ve a few different ideas just for you.

Homemade candles in old crockery. I love love love this idea! A trawl through charity shops and even your mum’s cupboards will probably arm you with enough random teacups to make these unusual favours. By simply melting paraffin wax beads, adding a wick and scent from your favourite essential oil, I’m betting the female guests will delight in this favour.

For a touch of nature why not give your guests something cultivated by you fair own hand! It will take a bit of preparation to have 100 mini pots of your chosen plant, but it will be worth the work! The gift that keeps on giving even after your wedding day.

You could also give your guest a little work to do themselves with a bulb and plant pot. Simply attach a little note of what to do and let them work away!

Do a little research and see if your mum, granny or aunt has a favour jam recipe, borrow it and get making! We all appreciate a good jar of strawberry jam and this will go down a real treat with your guests.

Perfect for a winter wedding, warming hot chocolate mix in a mason jar. This works equally well with a cookie mix, and maybe even a mojito mix!

What about these for a rustic choice. These cardboard boxes are filled with cheese, crackers and chocolate but they would work as equally as well filled with homemade soap.
